Cinder Hill
Lodge No 16
Rusland has been the home of the Archibald family since the early 19th century and in modern times Cinder Hill has served as the dower house to the Hall, a splendid Georgian mansion next door. This lovely home, with old oak beams, flagstone floors and fine antiques, exudes warmth and comfort. Outside, the extensive lawns, herbaceous borders and shrubberies are embraced by the spectacular valley and woodland landscape beyond.
Unwind with a stroll to the church or a friendly game of croquet before everyone gets together for dinner, the highlight of any stay. In summer guests take coffee in the conservatory to watch the owls and deer, or in winter to enjoy a nightcap in front of a roaring fire before retiring to cosy beds, topped with classical bedspreads, for a blissful night's sleep.

David has always been passionate about food and drink and now 'poacher turned gamekeeper' he has found his forte in the kitchen, delighting guests with local specialities such as salt marsh lamb, Morecambe Bay shrimps and sticky toffee pudding.
