The Bower
Lodge No 46
Nestled in such a tranquil setting, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is hard to believe that this enchanting 18th century country house and woodland garden, is just ten minutes from the M6.
The minute you arrive, you feel at home. A harpsichord (played exquisitely and enthusiastically) stands in the entrance hall. The spacious drawing room and dining room for formal dinners have period fireplaces and are impeccably furnished with comfortable, soft sofas, antiques and an enormous cheese plant, evidence of Sally-Ann's green fingers (as is the rubber tree in the sunny conservatory), The welcoming kitchen with large pine table, around which guests gather for sumptuous breakfasts, is the heart of this Georgian home - warm, relaxed and informal.
From bath essence to biscuits and coffee to clock radios, nothing has been overlooked in the two lovely guest rooms - one decorated with oriental exotic birds, with double and a single bed and en suite bathroom and the other in calm cream and blue, with king-size double bed and private bathroom. Both bathrooms are luxurious with large double-ended baths and power showers.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Keen bridge players and classical music lovers, Michael and Sally-Ann are generous, friendly, talented hosts. Sally-Ann is an excellent cook. You'll love her delicious hand made, home made bread, and the jams and marmalade made by Michael. The perfect partnership, to which guests return time and again.
The Location
This idyllic yet little known corner of England is an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Just ten minutes from the M6, it is also perfect for stopovers en route to or from Scotland.

How to find The Bower Bed & Breakfast (B&B).
From M6 junction 35 take the A6 north towards Milnthorpe. After ¾ mile on A6 pass under narrow bridge, take next left (Snape Lane) to end, turn left. The Bower is immediately on the right through two white gates. From the north on the A6, enter Lancashire (from Cumbria) and then take the second road on the right (sign-posted Yealand Conyers). At the end turn left. The Bower is almost the last house on the right (West) side of the road opposite the Roman Catholic Church.
