Kirnaughtry House
Lodge No 122A
The philosophy at Kirnaughtry House is ‘simplicity equals perfection’. But don’t for one moment think that rules out comfort and luxury – far from it! From the stripped pine floors covered with lovely Persian rugs to the spacious and beautifully decorated bedrooms and bathrooms boasting fine linen, crystal chandeliers, hand made soaps and comfortable armchairs or sofa’s to relax in, this is a truly restful experience.
Situated in a lovely wooded garden in one of the most stunning areas of the country, there are no televisions in this delightfully restored Edwardian Manse to distract you from your surroundings – beautiful beaches, rugged bays and cliffs, abundant wildlife and the wonderful mild climate of the Gulf Stream – just time to enjoy the views and marvel at a night sky unspoilt by street lights.
There are plenty of interesting books and magazines for guests to read and retro Roberts radios in the bedrooms. Lynn’s cooking is inspired, with carefully sourced local ingredients magically combined and beautifully presented, home made bread, cakes and preserves. There is no place here for ‘fast food’ – everything is cooked with honesty, heart and soul.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Since buying Kirnaughtry House Lynn and Bob have worked wonders to restore the once neglected house and garden to the glorious home they now share with their guests. Bob has travelled extensively for rugs for the Persian rug shop he used to own whilst Lynn graduated in nutrition and spent many years in health and well being which is reflected in the sumptuous menu. Bob’s easy going, friendly character and Lynn’s gentle, caring nature are the perfect combination for ensuring guests enjoy a wonderful experience.
The Location
