Cambo House
Lodge No 126
Snowdrop Special Offer until March 2009
Driving along the mile long driveway of Cambo House you pass through woodland and parkland before beginning to catch glimpses of one of Scotland's finest country houses and gardens which is home to Peter and Catherine Erskine. The house has been in Peter's family since the 1600's but the current house was built after the original house burnt down in 1870. The scale and grandeur of the house is comfortably blended with a great many family portraits and lovingly collected artwork and antiques.
A magnificent staircase leads to two elegantly decorated and furnished guest rooms on the first floor of the main house – the Yellow Room and the Blue Room, both with king size four poster beds. A wood burning stove in the sitting room ensures cosy nights in the winter; outside, woodland walks entice you down to the sea. The charms and innovative plantings in the 2.5 acre Victorian walled garden are widely acclaimed and have been the subject of articles in ‘The Garden', ‘Country Life' and ‘Country Living'.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Your hosts are passionate about their home and warmly welcome their guests. Peter, a lively raconteur, manages the estate and Catherine is a knowledgeable plantswoman and avid gardener who has been the inspiration behind the transformation of the gardens.
