Turning along the tree lined drive to Whitehouse you will catch site of the spectacular views across the Tweed Valley, Cheviot Hills and the English border. These stunning views amidst a tranquil setting provided the perfect location for the dower house, built in 1872 for the Duchess of Sutherland.

You are welcomed into this relaxing home by hosts Roger and Angela who provide their guests with tea and homemade cakes on arrival. Victorian in style, the house merges fine furnishings with genuine comfort and guests share the enjoyment of the candlelit dining room and the soothing log fire in the drawing room.

Large bedrooms are complemented by spacious bathrooms with sumptuous towels, bathrobes and toiletries, completing the overall feel of indulgent luxury.

The simple garden with its croquet lawn and orchard, along with the walk from the house down through farmland with its abundance of wildlife to the River Tweed, add to the overall tranquillity.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

For 20 years Roger and Angela have enjoyed looking after their guests, making sure they are totally relaxed and comfortable in their home. Roger's passions of salmon fishing and shooting have taken him to the world's best rivers and shoots, whilst Angela is equally passionate about horses and eventing. As a professionally trained cook, she enjoys preparing simple but imaginative meals for her guests.

The Location

For sports lovers, Whitehouse is close to Kelso racecourse and the international horse trails held in May and August. Salmon fishing on the Tweed and an abundance of golf courses, including the Roxburghe championship course, are all available close by.

Completing the appeal of this area there are castles, historic houses, National Trust gardens and charming villages to explore.

From A68St Boswells, take B6404 (Dryburgh), after approx 3½ miles, Whitehouse sign on right. Turn right down drive, sharp right at cottages, continue to the main house.

From Kelso leave via A6089 (Edinburgh road) and take left turn on to B6397 (St. Boswells). After approx 1½ miles turn left on to B6404, continue for 2½ miles to Whitehouse sign. Turn left down drive and sharp right at cottages, continue to the main house.
