Gorno Grove House
Lodge No 145
A friendly, informal style in this lovely home, ensures that guests, who arrive as strangers, always leave as friends. Gorno Grove has been lovingly rebuilt, seamlessly blending modern architecture with original 1850s stone walls. A galleried entrance hall opens into the dining room where guests dine with their hosts. A large sitting room with wonderful views over the landscape, has a roaring fire in the hearth in the winter, fine pictures and a piano waiting to be played.
Good sized, tastefully decorated en suite bedrooms (including one with its own balcony) have king size beds, easy chairs, writing desks, televisions and power showers in the bathrooms.
Sandy's passion and talent for gardening is evident in his evolving seven acre woodland garden, planted out in 1994 with some 800 trees, and a large pond with its own stream and beautifully naturalised waterside planting.
