Beera Farmhouse

Undoubtedly one of the best…

With views of the Tamar Valley and rolling Devon countryside, this imposing Victorian farmhouse bed and breakfast, in the parish of Milton Abbot, near Tavistock was built in 1856 by the Duke of Bedford and is situated on the border of Devon and Cornwall in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With gardens (complete with ‘ha ha’) surrounded by their own farmland and grazing livestock, there are orchards, picnic tables, swing and slide for children to enjoy. This truly is a real Devon delight according to many Wolsey Lodge guests.

Inside, many original features remain, and this comfortable family home has a guest sitting room, with television and DVD player, wood burning stove, piano, local information, maps and reading material. On arrival, experience a traditional cream tea here, or in the garden.

Legendary farmhouse B&B breakfasts with homemade preserves and dinners (by prior arrangement) feature home reared meats and locally grown produce.

Light and airy B&B guest bedrooms (one with four poster) all en-suite, have great showers and contemporary furnishings, offering everything guests might want (including homemade biscuits and local fudge on the hospitality tray!).

Your B&B Hosts

Robert grew up on this farm and Hilary, too, is from a local farming family. A professionally trained chef, she produces excellent breakfasts and evening meals for her Wolsey Lodge B&B guests and, with sufficient notice, even packed lunches. The Tuckers have three young sons who enjoy meeting guests. Families staying on the farm love to watch the lambs and the farm in action. Very involved in their community, Robert and Hilary are fonts of local knowledge and always happy to book local restaurants and hostelries for Wolsey Lodge guests.
