Friendly and personal hosts, coupled with a faultless breakfast…

An unusual and original Georgian Grade B listed Lairds House set in rolling farmland, complete with washhouses and stable courtyard at the back. Your hosts, Willie and Catriona, are justifiably proud of their family home and go to great lengths to make their B&B guests feel welcome, serving tea and ‘something homemade' on arrival.

Inside, the light and airy rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, all set against a backdrop of magnificent views in all directions. The accommodation has a double bedroom that is comfortable and luxurious with a large en suite bathroom whilst the twin room has its own private bathroom just one step away. Both are furnished with gorgeous Egyptian cotton linen, goose-down duvets and the bathrooms with soft, fluffy towels.

The garden is full with lawns, shrubs and mature trees to walk around, a tennis court and the surrounding fields are home to cattle, sheep, donkeys, pet lambs and the hens that provide the eggs for breakfast. With outdoor sitting areas, guests are invited to enjoy the wonderful, big, often starlit skies, listen to the enchanting birdsong and to simply sit back and indulge in total relaxation in this rather special area of Scotland.

We recently stayed at Chipperkyle, it was everything you could want in a B&B. Catriona & Willie offered the perfect balance between friendly assistance and privacy. The breakfasts were wonderful.
