Claremont House

Strikingly modern interiors and deluxe breakfasts…

The impressive pillared entrance of this luxury B&B leads to the lovely airy hallway of this welcoming home, where grand furniture, beautiful antiques, and many original features stylishly blend with chic furnishings and décor. Set in a pretty walled garden, with immaculate lawns and outdoor seating. There is parking for one car, alternatively, there is on street parking.

Elegant and classically Victorian, this Wolsey Lodge resides in the leafy conservation area of The Grange and just 20 minutes’ walk from the city centre, or convenient for buses to key locations. Much loved has been invested into this family home, which reflects your hosts flair for design and style.

Bedrooms, one on the first floor and the other on the second floor (accessed via a narrow staircase) are fabulous. Both spacious, they have large en suite bathrooms, one with a roll topped bath the other has a jacuzzi bath and extra touches like fresh fruit and flowers, homemade biscuits and a choice of pillows.

Breakfast is served at individual tables in the guest lounge and offers an amazing array of fresh fruits, cereals, porridge, and croissants, plus a full Scottish breakfast with black pudding and kippers. Not to be missed!

Your B&B Hosts

Gill and Paul opened their family home to guests fairly recently, already fully au fait with Wolsey Lodges as Paul’s mother ran a popular Wolsey Lodge luxury B &B for many years. Paul has a number of other property/hospitality businesses in the historic Old Town and they both enjoy entertaining, travelling, property restoration, and interior design. They are wonderful hosts who will happily advise Wolsey Lodge B&B guests on restaurants, local amenities, golf courses and other places to visit.

The city positively teems with excitement during the Fringe and International Book festivals, but also has much to offer the rest of the year. The National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Botanic Gardens are just a few of the major highlights. Historic guided walks, theatre and fabulous restaurants are just a few of the numerous activities available close by. The Scottish Golf Open is a popular event and of course, it is the perfect springboard for a trip further north to discover the Highlands and beyond.
