Fasbourn Hall

A true King of B&Bs…

At the end of a quiet, no-through road sits this wonderful historic former manor house dating back to the 15th Century. Its bucolic setting contains 5 acres of mature gardens and a further 22 acres of meadowland - rich with wildlife - plus moat, medieval bridge and farmland to explore (maps kindly provided by the hosts). This bed and breakfast has influences from eras including Medieval, Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and even the Arts & Crafts movements.

Your hosts have sympathetically restored and retained its original splendor, the interior boasts a wealth of period features, polished oak floors, wood panelling, exposed beams, open fires and carefully chosen antiques.

The bedrooms, named after past owners, have garden views and are individual in period and style but share the same degree of luxury. En suite bathrooms, flat screen TV, coffee maker, fine linens and fluffy towelling robes, natural toiletries, a fridge for fresh milk, locally sourced juices and chocolates, and amazingly comfortable large beds.

Locally sourced produce and amenities is evident in all the small touches and none more so than at breakfast, which includes home produced sausages and free-range eggs, along with fruit and vegetables from the house's grounds.

Your B&B Hosts

After careers in Business Management and Marketing and nursing respectively, Clive and Nicky bought Fasbourn Hall and now indulge their interest in sustainable farming, historical properties and the community’s role in rural life. Restoration of this Wolsey Lodge has been a true labour of love and their obvious delight in welcoming guests to their fabulous home, plus an unfailingly warm welcome and meticulous attention to detail makes them perfect hosts.

In the heart of Suffolk, five minutes from Stowmarket and convenient for Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and the Suffolk coast, this is the ideal base for exploring East Anglia. Historic towns (West Stow), stately homes (Ickworth House), cathedrals, gardens, horse racing (Newmarket races), shows and festivals the most notable of which are the Festival of Classic and Sport Cars, Lavenham Literary festival and the Suffolk Show.
