First and foremost guests will be warmly welcomed to their chosen Wolsey Lodge. Tea and homemade cakes are offered on arrival by their host together with a tour of the accommodation. Our hosts are very much available for their guests to talk about the locality and how to make the most of their stay. Breakfast is usually the traditional full English offering although some guests prefer a lighter breakfast and so alternatives of fresh fruit, cereals, bread or pastries as well as tea, coffee and juices are also on the menu and special dietary requirements are willingly accommodated. If the Lodge offers dinner or supper then guests can expect good quality dining usually seated with other guests and the hosts. The traditional Wolsey Lodge ‘dinner party’ is well renowned and enjoyed, however such is the choice of different eateries, todays guests also enjoy eating at local restaurants and pubs as well as at the Wolsey Lodge itself. Some Lodges no longer offer dinner at all whilst others offer a lighter supper – each is individual and guests discuss their dining requirements with their host before they arrive.

Long before the Quality in Tourism national quality standards were introduced we were inspecting our Wolsey Lodges to ensure they maintained the high quality levels our guests expect. Today many Wolsey Lodges also carry the Quality in Tourism or AA star grading system, typically being awarded 4 or 5 stars with silver and gold awards too. We still independently inspect all Wolsey Lodges.
