Harvest House

An oasis of tranquillity on England's southern coast

This friendly b&b is beautifully set on the coastal sector of the New Forest National Park. Set in an acre of its own mature grounds it has uninterrupted views of the Western Solent and beyond.

Ample secure off road parking gives you privacy, security and peace of mind. In this quiet location you would hardly believe we are just three or four minutes walk from the village centre with its shops, pubs and restaurants. There’s excellent wifi here but almost no light pollution: perfect for star gazing on a clear night.

Every b&b offers a different experience to you, the guest. As your hosts, we live on site and endeavour to ensure a warm and personalised service from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart.

Our three guest bedrooms are individually decorated with modern facilities. Our beds are NOT contract beds and as such are chosen for comfort over price. Our king and superking duvets and some of our pillows come from the Gingerlilly silk range. Again chosen for comfort and certainly not with cost in mind. Our comfortable sitting room, complete with wood burner for those cooler evenings gives another dimension to your stay, extending your accommodation to more than just your guest bedroom.

The grounds too offer yet another area to enjoy, perhaps with a glass of wine beside a “spreading chestnut tree” prior to going out to supper, or with a book to enjoy a quiet read with a cuppa under an umbrella on the patio.

Breakfast is served in our breakfast room and guests are offered individual tables. When the weather allows, breakfast can be taken on the patio. In the distance, the water traffic on the Solent below is often a colourful sight, especially on race days.

Your B&B Hosts

We support the local community so breakfast is genuinely sourced locally as much as is possible and we hold the acknowledgement of that with our membership of the New Forest Marque. We go that extra mile to make sure you feel welcome and breakfast is an opportunity for guests to benefit from our local knowledge which we enjoy sharing. It is also a time to share the experiences that other guests have had during their stay. But having an individual table allows those who prefer to be quiet at breakfast to do just that.

We personally welcome our guests so we do need to have a guide to your arrival time, and an exchange of mobile numbers is useful for both parties. We usually carry one with us so if you have a hiccup when you are out and about and you think we might be able to help then do not hesitate to give us a call; there maybe something we can do or suggest.

Please let us know of any needs or expectations when you book with us. We will endeavour to fulfil any reasonable requests. Our breakfast menu can be viewed online. It covers most tastes, but we are aware that specific needs which we may well be able to cater for if we know ahead of your arrival.

Harvest House is on the edge of Milford on Sea, just off the A337 southwest of Lymington. There’s plenty of parking space: we comfortably accommodate guests’ cars, bicycles and dinghies in the safety of our gated drive. The nearest railway station is Brockenhurst but from there you'll need a taxi.

Jon and I enjoy sharing our home with guests. We share a love of classic cars and are happy to show like minded guests the “toyshop” to see our collection.

Jim and Jake our two dogs may come and say hello but are well behaved and will leave if asked. We are confident that if you visit the New Forest you will not be disappointed with a stay at Harvest House.
