Just So Cottage

Exclusive use makes this cosy cottage b&b really feel a home

Antique furnishings, an inglenook fireplace and exposed beams showcase 400 years of history to great effect. The three guest bedrooms are luxurious, with super-comfortable beds, crisp bed linens and tasteful, relaxing décor.  Guests have Just So Cottage completely to themselves but your host Anna lives next door and is always on hand to help with restaurant reservations and travel advice.

There are just three guest bedrooms. The master bedroom has a superking-sized bed, its own fireplace and sitting area, along with en-suite facilities that include a shower and slipper bath. The second guest room has a king-sized bed and en-suite shower, while the top room has two single beds with a classic roll-top bath en-suite.

Just So Cottage has ancient twisting stairs so is not suitable for children under six or those with limited mobility.

The guest bedrooms aren’t cluttered with kettles and coffee sachets. Instead guests are free to make their own drinks in the kitchen, with freshly-milled coffee and a wide selection of leaf and herbal teas on offer. All the guest rooms have TV’s. There’s a selection of DVDs in the lounge, though guests are more often found reading some of the books that line the walls or gazing at the open fire. In summer the award-winning cottage garden comes into its own: prettily filled with flowers and plants and with plenty of outdoor seating. This is a postcard-perfect English cottage.

Your B&B Hosts

Your hostess Anna Heaton is a professional gardener so the traditional cottage garden is a delight at any season.

Guests appreciate the privacy of having the cottage to themselves but they’re especially pleased to see Anna at breakfast. There is a wide selection of juices and fresh fruits, and a range of cereals. Your choice of cooked breakfast is always included, with free-range eggs, local artisan breads and home-made preserves. She is always happy to cater for special needs such as vegetarian, gluten free or dairy free.

Just So Cottage is set in the Vale of Aylesbury in the delightful town of Winslow, mentioned in the Domesday Book and a favoured location for Midsomer Murders. The surrounding countryside borders the Cotswolds and Chilterns. There are plenty of attractions in easy range, with Bletchley Park on one side and Bicester Village on the other, while it’s convenient for motor racing at Silverstone, equestrian events at Addington, the Bucks County Show, Stowe School and gardens and more.
