Rectory Farm

Classic, family run, country farm B&B…

Surrounded by a 450-acre valley of scenic farmland, sits this beautifully secluded, two hundred and seventy-year-old, creeper-clad country house. Located in the heart of the North Cotswold’s, you won’t find a better bed and breakfast that is as quiet, peaceful and as charming as this one.

The large drawing room with deep plush sofas and tables laden with interesting books and magazines, just off the traditional flagstone hall which runs through the core of the house, is the best place to sit, relax and enjoy an afternoon tea after a long journey.

The three bedrooms are impeccably furnished, comfortable, light and airy with lovely views over the three-acre garden which leads to two natural trout lakes (four and five acres) and woodland. Complimentary fishing, tackle hire and tuition are available to all guests.

The Dining room, with its lovely views, is an ideal complement to the sumptuous breakfast. Consisting of fine local fare, from Gloucester Old Spot sausages and bacon to honey from Cotswold Bees, whose hives reside on site as well as Elizabeth’s own homemade marmalade.

Your B&B Hosts

Rectory Farm, situated in a lovely area of the Oxfordshire countryside, is home to Nigel and Elizabeth Colston. Nigel, an arable and livestock farmer and Elizabeth both enjoy all aspects of country living. Having lived here all their lives, they possess good local knowledge and are only too happy to advise their B&B guests on the more unusual and rewarding places to visit throughout the Cotswold’s, Oxfordshire as well as Warwickshire and Gloucestershire too.

Salford, close to Chipping Norton and halfway between Stratford-upon-Avon as well as Oxford, makes Rectory Farm an ideal centre for touring the Cotswolds. Warwick Castle, Chastleton and Rousham Houses, Hidcote and Bourton House Gardens are within easy reach. There is something for everybody, including a popular walk from the house to the Rollright Stones (a Bronze Age stone circle).
