A welcoming home on a sandy Scottish beach

Set in a beautifully restored three-story Victorian property on North Berwick's seafront, Seaholm offers high quality accommodation and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, all at highly competitive rates. It's situation on the seafront means the beach is steps away, and five minutes walk will bring you to North Berwick's High Street, with all its restaurants and shops.

Guest rooms at Seaholm are spacious, comfortably furnished and scrupulously clean. As they have been converted from a substantial Victorian property they are not en-suite: two of the guest rooms (Bass Rock View and Courtyard) have large private bathrooms, while the other two (Quadrant View and White Room) share a bathroom. For comfort and discretion bathrobes are provided in every room.

The beautiful dining room has bay windows overlooking the sea, bringing the light of the North Atlantic and sweeping views of the glorious beach. This is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast en famile, or lavish three-course dinners by arrangement. Guests are also welcome to use the sitting room and immediately in front of the house there is a small terrace, softened by pot-plants, giving directly onto the beach. Wifi is, of course, available throughout the property.

A superb Victorian beachfront maisonette on Scotland's sandy coast

A private entrance on the ground floor leads up to this luxury property, set on the second and third floors of a substantial Victorian terraced property. Accommodation is bright and spacious: period details have been retained but modern comforts installed, making his the perfect base from which to explore East Lothian's countless charms.

The lounge/dining room is set on the first floor, with bay windows overlooking the sea, an open fireplace, and a dining table seating eight. The fully-appointed kitchen has a further dining area sitting four, for smaller or less formal meals. Amongst a good range of floor and wall mounted kitchen units you'll find the usual accessories of fridge freezer, oven, hob and microwave, along with a dishwasher and washing machine. There is, of course, wifi throughout.

There are five bedrooms in East Sands Holiday Home. The first is on the ground floor, with an en suite bathroom including a bath with shower over. Stairs lead up to the second floor, bathed in light from a cupola, where there are four more bedrooms and an additional WC. The master bedroom is magnificent, with its own en suite shower room and a balcony to the front giving far reaching views over the Firth of Forth. Three further bedrooms offer various combinations of beds, meaning the property as a whole is able to sleep ten guests.

Your B&B Hosts

Your hostess at Seahom brings her Italian flair to this seafront B&B. Kind, considerate, friendly and welcoming, Lorena brings has a smile for every visitor - and her dog Lilly also gets caught up in welcoming guests. Breakfast is whatever you might want: salmon and poached egg is a favourite, as are Lorena's home-made pink grapefruit marmalade and her plum and Amaretto jam.

Not many Wolsey Lodges are right on the beach, but Seaholm is set immediately on the broad strands of Milsey Bay, framing the distinctive shape of Bass Rock out to sea. Puffins and seagulls flit past your window, with stunning sea views adding to the charm of large guest rooms, brightly furnished in contemporary fabrics. Unrestricted street parking is available immediately outside the lodge.
